Upper Peninsula Lodging
Pines Motel - St. Ignace, Michigan

The Pines Motel is an "old Michigan" motel at the north end of St. Ignace. If you are looking for vacation that will take you back to the way Michigan once was this is the place to start.
The rooms are paneled in cedar and are exactly what you would find if you had stopped in 30 years ago. So clean your mother would stay here.
H-63
is a two-lane paved road that runs from St. Ignace to Sault Ste.
Marie. At one time back when the ferry was the only way across the
Straits, it was the only road to the “Soo”. Even though you are only
a few yards from I-75 which runs on a nearly parallel course, if you
drive both of these, you would swear these roads are in different
worlds. The highway is the highway and you rush along with everyone
else in a hurry to get there. H-63, the old Mackinac Trail, winds
along the same course but is surrounded by evergreen trees and not
much else. If you go in the winter, about the only thing you are
liable to encounter is a deer or a snowmobile and gently falling
snowflakes.
