Freda, Michigan is on the west side of the Keweenaw peninsula.  Take the Houghton Canal Rd for five miles make a left turn onto Liminga Rd. take this about eight miles till it ends in Freda.

Freda Color & Cliffs

You won't find this road and color tour in many of the guidebooks or websites out there.  A few ghost town writers mention Freda, Michigan and one or two of the motorcycle riders have found it.  For the most part Freda Michigan and the scenic drive remain undiscovered.

Take the Houghton Canal Rd for five miles make a left turn onto Liminga Rd. take this about eight miles till it ends in Freda.

This is also known as Covered Road because of the way the trees arch over the road; makes for a great color tour ending on Lake Superior.
